Hi everyone!
It seems like an age since I last wrote a little blog so I decided to write a short piece to share some of my May favourites with you!
Last month was CRAZY! I was so busy with judging for the Rose of Tralee, attending the Irish Beauty Blog Awards, attending some skincare launches and in between all that working as a full time nurse!
I also got sent some amazing pieces which I fell in love with too. If you’re not already following me on Snapchat do say hello (@sindebutleir!), for daily updates!
- Jacqueline Dowd Designs
At the start of May, a gorgeous lady named Jacqui reached out to me via my Facebook page and told me about her mini business she had started. This was custom, handmade neck pieces.
Jacqui asked me to pick a piece which I could wear to an event. My choice was this detailed black and white piece, with sparkles. I opted for this piece as it would work with an array of colours and outfits.
The time and detail put into each piece is spectacular! Jacqui also names each piece which adds a beautiful touch. If you’re looking to treat yourself or looking for the perfect gift, these are must. Here are the links you need!

2. Primark Limited Edition “Bobble Shoes”
My oh my, these famous shoes! Where to begin. Okay, if I’m 100% honest I was in two minds about theses shoes when I initially bought them. However I fell in love with the vibrancy of the colours and just how unique and different they were.
I wore these beauties to the Beauty Blog Awards and SO many people admired them- so it’s safe to say I was very happy I “left the bobbles on”.
I’ve seen these up to last week (just €24), still available in Penney’s in Blanchardstown so get your hands on them quick! A fab way to add a quirky look to your outfit! 😄
3. Vestry Plunge Dress
I’m sure most of us have this problem- ” I have nothing to wear”! 🙈
Anyway I felt this way in May- and as I had just finished a week of nights and was heading off to judge the Cavan Rose of Tralee selection I wanted to treat myself to a new dress!
This particular dress kept popping up on my Facebook news feed. This stunning split leg and low v neck piece is available in 3 different shades- I opted for shade “mink” as I had no dresses in my wardrobe this colour!
I teamed this with a gold sparkle shoe and a delicate neck piece. I bought this dress for €56 on vestry.co.uk, however I copped this dress on i.clothing.ie for a little cheaper!

If you are looking for something a little different, classy but sexy this a fab little number for your outfit! Just make sure you have some body tape! 😄
4. Chicago Marcasite Jewellery
During May a lovely lady named Maxine also reached out to me regarding Chicago Jewellery! I had not come across this particular type of jewellery.
On researching I learned that Marcasite jewellery has been around since the time of the Ancient Greeks! This particular range is inspired by the 1920’s decade, and really is elegant and classy.
This range of jewellery is available online and in selected jewellers which you will see listed on their website.
As I’m from Kilkenny, the stockists here are Lorimat Jeweller’s. My mum has bought lots from Lorimat and always speaks highly of Rita and the fab staff there, so definetely well worth a look.

Cubic Zirconia Marcasite Earrings
These stunning earrings I was sent are so unusual, best of all I could not believe the price, just €45! I wore these modelling for Serendipity Boutique last week.
Below is the link to their gorgeous pieces. Right up my street – fashion under fifty! 😁
5. Thalgo skincare
I had yet to come across this gorgeous brand of skincare, that is Thalgo! Last month I attended an evening in the Morission Hotel for skincare tips, nibbles and drinks. I met some of the girls from Thalgo at this event, and we got a chance to review some of the products.
There and then I exprienced their hand exfoliator and moisturiser. On leaving we also received a bag of products to try.
Last week I made use of the gorgeous sunshine but got a little burnt, so straight away I reached out for their after sun skin care range.
This particular product I chose is the sun repair cream mask. This acts as a cream and a mask. I found this cream really cooling on the skin and it helped to prevent blistering and itching.
I’ve also used their hydrating cream, another one which is really soothing on the skin especially after showering! I look forward to treating myself to more of these products as they really are great quality.
Price wise they aren’t too bad, all prices are listed on their website. Thalgo is available nationwide and online via this link!
So there you have it, my May favourites! It was such a busy month, but I loved every minute of it! Snapchat for more, when I’m not in work! 🙈 (@ sindebutleir 📷).
Happy shopping,
Sinead.
