I constantly get asked about my hair extensions, so I’m going to fill you in on my fabulous set of Platinum prestige hair extensions. Just over two months ago I had a full head of Platinum extensions applied. Platinum came into business 5 years ago, and was founded by Onagh O’Driscoll. It is located on Grafton Street and have recently opened in Galway.

In the past I had had some extensions but these were simply for extra thickness at the front of my hair. So I couldn’t wait to have extra volume and length and that’s just what I got!

Approximately two and a half hours later I left the Platinum salon with an AMAZING head of hair extensions as you can see from the before and after picture. They felt SO light weight yet were so thick. The platinum hair extensions are applied using keratin rich bonds, so your own hair is not damaged in the process, or while wearing the extensions.

The quality of the hair is second to none, it is Italian 100% human hair which has not been coloured or treated.

Honestly it’s like an addiction for me.  I always had shoulder length hair and struggled with slow growth for years. For me the application of Platinum hair has boosted my confidence. There is no better feeling then long luscious hair. Anyone who has felt my hair cannot believe the quality of the extensions and how discreet the bonds are.

As a nurse we must wear our hair up, the discreet bonds means no one even knows I have extensions. This was one thing I feared, but has not caused me any problems.

Styling takes a while, so be prepared for extra time to blow-dry and style. However once done the curls stay in place for up to 4 days, without adding any heat again, it’s brilliant!

The extensions themselves are quite quick drying, you are advised to let the extensions dry naturally to an extent to allow optimum maintenance and quality.

I was kindly also given the Platinum shampoo  & conditioner which I have used each time I wash my hair. This is also an essential part of maintaining the quality of the hair. Once you have your extensions applied you are given a leaflet explaining your aftercare and instructions going home.

I am now two months wearing my extensions, and I don’t know how I will manage without them. They really are an addiction especially when the quality of the hair is top notch and long-lasting! #platinumprestige
